
Hello, I’m Stephanie Whitford—a certified International Master Addictions Coach, Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Nutrition Coach, specializing in substance use recovery! I teach people how to use diet, along with targeted nutrient therapy, meditation and movement, to help heal the body and brain and prevent cravings and recurrent substance use.

My passion stems from my personal journey. During my life, I developed unhealthy dependencies on mood-altering substances, alcohol and food. Learning about the impact of nutrition on addiction and mental health has been key to understanding the generational history of alcoholism and substance use in my generational lineage.
From an early age of 5, I was heavily medicated on Ritalin (hello, substance use) and later turned to a variety of substances to either to focus my brain, soothe anxiety and depression or ease emotional pain and stress.
For years, I grappled with feeling controlled by substances, yearning for freedom. My heart and mind desired liberation, but my body and mind felt ensnared by limiting beliefs, self-sabotaging habits and powerful compulsions. The weight of my decisions bore down on me, accompanied by shame. Why couldn’t I summon the willpower for the changes I desperately needed?

In my mid-thirties, I received multiple diagnosis of hormonal imbalances, metabolic dysfunctions and mood disorders. This revelation, coupled with emotional and mental breakdowns led me to dive into finding breakthroughs and the secrets of breaking free from addictive mood-altering substances and destructive behaviors. For over a decade, I addressed nutritional imbalances, identified food sensitivities, and eliminated inflammation and toxins. Armed with science-based tools, I restored my brain’s function and achieved balance.

A pivotal discovery was amino acid therapy—a targeted approach to reduce cravings, stabilize mood, and eliminate addiction. After nearly a decade of self-experimentation, formal education as a Nutrition Therapist, and countless hours studying mental health and addiction nutrition, I launched RECOVERY RELOADED.
