WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?
Used in sound healing therapy, singing bowls, gongs and chimes and other instruments are used to calm and repair the mind as well as reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, improve breathing and circulation, alleviate aches and pains, strengthen the immune system, improve mood, reset the nervous system into a more relaxed state that can better digest and rest.
Singing bowls resonate in the body with a pure, healing sound. The vibrations are similar to those of the brain’s alpha waves, and they oscillate with an energetically high frequency, like that of the “Om” mantra. The sounds waves help bring the brain into a Theta state (Theta waves occur during REM sleep, and deep relaxation and meditation.). At the same time, the vibrations that emit from the instruments provide a cellular massage, stimulating large energy centers in the body with the various frequencies/tones.
